As I prepare for the following three years of my studies, I look back on how my experiences have been shaped by those who I encountered and developed relationships with. I took this 35mm B&W photograph of the wall of notes in my friend’s dorm in early November last year while testing out a newly acquired film camera that was passed down to me from my grandfather. I had forgotten about this moment until I found this photograph. It immediately stood out to me because of the way that it captures such an insignificant moment and yet reminds me of how influential my ever-changing relationships are to my art practice. I always aim to demonstrate how I experience and move through life in my photography, so my craft is constantly evolving as I continue to learn more about myself and the ways in which I want to live my life. I see this photograph as one piece within a string of evidence that follows my path of life.
